Oil Export Logistics from Kazakhstan
INTRODUCTION:
Oil industry is a key development driver in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Hydrocarbons production is rising every year. This can only be sustained provided an adequate transportation infrastructure is put in place in a timely manner.
The geography of routes is diverse. Yet due to capacity bottlenecks there is an issue regarding outlooks for development of a particular route.
What is of greater priority? West? Or East?
How do exporters make the right choice against the background of bottlenecked routes and hydrocarbons shipping costs? What is the way to plan future deliveries in the context of emerging routes and general expansion of transportation infrastructure? All these questions remain pending.
To respond to that International Business House training centre has designed this progamme.
The event will focus on the analysis of today’s crude and products export transportation services market in Kazakhstan, and the outlook for the transportation infrastructure development.
The delegates will explore available capacities and limitations of hydrocarbons and their derivative products deliveries to international markets, and look at prospects of development for new routes and benefits of deliveries’ diversification.
COURSE PARTICIPANTS WILL HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO:
- Obtain detailed information on all current export routes for Kazakh crude and products as well as emerging and future projects.
- Gain an insight on working will pipeline system operators, learn about regulations and tariffs of rail operators, sea terminal operators, and tanker fleet owners.
- Study specific features of rail transportation in the territories of the Customs Union States (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia).
- Appreciate benefits/limitations associated with hydrocarbons export in connection with the established unified customs territory of the three countries.
- Study the freight market in the Mediterranean and Black Seas.
- Calculate tanker chartering costs incurred through exporting Kazakh crude in the framework of a practical exercise.
