Polish oil refiner PKN
Orlen has signed a new long-term contract for deliveries of crude oil
supplies to its Płock plant with Geneva-based Souz Petrolium. The Polish
firm values the deal at approximately zł.19.4 billion. The agreement will run from January 1, 2012 through 2014 and is
expected to deliver around 2.4 million tons of crude oil per year. It
replaces Orlen's previous contract with petroleum trading firm Petraco,
valid from September 29, 2011 to December 22 of this year, which
amounted to zł.20.5 billion, reports daily Parkiet. “This time, we have been able to negotiate better terms of business
compared with those afforded by the previous agreement: a better price
plus a number of other terms favorable to PKN ORLEN, such as a guarantee
of alternative deliveries," said Orlen CEO Jacek Krawiec in a
statement.
